The opportunity

What you will do

• Design, build, test, release, and operate production features across the frontend, backend, data layer, and cloud environment.
• Build accessible, responsive React and Next.js interfaces with strong performance and reusable components.
• Develop reliable Node.js and Python services, REST or GraphQL APIs, background workflows, and third-party integrations.
• Design clear data models, service boundaries, and APIs that support growth without unnecessary complexity.
• Help ship LLM-powered features and automation with sensible evaluation, observability, and failure handling.
• Improve automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, security, reliability, and performance.
• Review code and designs, document decisions, and raise the bar for engineering quality.
• Partner with founders, product, and design to shape scope, surface risks early, and deliver outcomes customers notice

What you bring

• At least seven years of professional software engineering experience, including real ownership of production systems or major product features.
• Strong TypeScript and JavaScript fundamentals with hands-on React experience; Next.js experience is highly relevant.
• Strong backend skills in Node.js or Python, including API design, asynchronous workflows, error handling, and testing.
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database, including schema design, query performance, migrations, and data integrity.
• Production experience with AWS or GCP, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Senior judgment: you own outcomes rather than tickets, and you raise tradeoffs and risks early.
• Excellent written and spoken English and comfort working independently in a distributed team.
• At least four working hours of overlap with US Eastern or Central Time

Nice to have

• Production experience with LLM-powered or AI-assisted features, such as retrieval, tool use, evaluation, and guardrails.
• Java and Spring Boot, or C# and .NET experience.
• Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Kubernetes, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, or event-driven architectures.
• Experience with B2B SaaS, workflow automation, multi-tenant systems, or real-time applications.
• Early-stage or fast-growing startup experience.
• A track record of mentorship, technical leadership, or architectural improvement

Working arrangement

This is a remote role, and you can be based anywhere. You will work closely with US-based teams, so dependable overlap with US business hours, clear written communication, and comfort with asynchronous work are essential.
